5 labels by product to choose from

Every label is printed to your size and artwork, and every order is priced by email before anything is made.

Why shop for labels by product?

Because the container decides more than you might think. A jar label has to fit between the shoulder and the base. A bottle label has to avoid the double curve at the neck. A candle base label carries warning text, a lip balm wrap must not overlap, and a deli tub needs a wrap cut to its taper.

Each page in this range starts from the container, gives typical sizes, and suggests the stock that copes with how the product is stored and handled.

It also helps when you sell more than one kind of product. A candle maker who adds room sprays, or a jam maker who adds sauces, can see how the sizes and stocks change from one container to the next and plan a range of labels that still looks like one brand.

These are starting points. Measure your own container and we will check the size on your free proof.

How do I measure my container?

  1. Fill and close one container so you measure it as customers see it.
  2. Measure the straight wall from just under the shoulder or lip to just above the base.
  3. Take a few millimetres off that height for the label.
  4. Wrap a strip of paper round it for the circumference if you want a wrap.
  5. Send the figures with a photo, and we confirm them on the proof.

Our guide on measuring jars and bottles for labels shows the method with typical figures.

Containers from different suppliers vary, even when they are sold as the same size, so measure the ones you actually fill rather than relying on a catalogue figure.

Which stock suits which product?

Glass jars and bottles kept dry can wear paper or kraft. Anything chilled, oily or used in a bathroom should wear film: white or clear BOPP. Candles sit in between: film is easier to wipe if wax spills, but kraft and soft-touch paper look lovely on candles that stay boxed until lit.

Food packs going into a chiller are the clearest case for film, because condensation softens paper within hours.

Cosmetics are mostly film too, because creams and oils mark paper quickly and bathrooms are damp. The exception is a wrapped soap bar, where a paper or kraft band suits the dry, natural look.

What do makers in this range ask for most?

  • Front and back labels for a range of flavours or scents
  • Lid circles in a different colour for each variety
  • Clear labels on glass to show the contents
  • Base labels with warning or ingredients text
  • A blank matt panel for a hand-written batch or date
  • Rolls wound for a desktop dispenser

Can one design work across several products?

Yes, and it is the easiest way to look like a real range. Keep the logo, the fonts and the colour palette the same, and change only the size and layout to suit each container. A jar front, a bottle label and a candle label from the same family sit happily together on a shelf.

We can proof the whole set together, so you see every label side by side before anything is printed.

Who is responsible for the wording?

You are, as the maker. Food, drink, candle and cosmetic labels each have their own rules about ingredients, allergens, warnings and contact details. Trading standards, a labelling adviser or your trade body can tell you what applies to your product.

We set out the wording you send, keep it at a size that reads, and flag anything that looks too small or crowded on the proof. If you change a recipe or a formula, send the new wording and we update the label before your next run.

How much do product labels cost?

Every label in this range starts from £0.05 a label. The final price depends on the size, the material, any finish and the quantity, and running several designs together usually brings the price per label down.

Labels by Product questions

More answers in Help, or call +44 7578 382054 or message us on WhatsApp.

Which page should I use for a jar of honey?

Jar labels. The page covers fronts, wraps and lid circles for honey, jam and chutney jars.

Do you print labels for both the jar and its lid?

Yes. Fronts, wraps and lid circles can go on one quote and one proof.

Where do I find labels for soap bars?

Cosmetic labels, which include paper bands for wrapped soap bars.

Can I order candle and box labels together?

Yes. A jar front, a base label and a box label can share one order.

Which labels suit chilled deli tubs?

Food labels on white or clear BOPP, which cope with condensation.

Can bottle labels include a neck collar?

Yes. Send the neck size and bottle shape and we suggest a collar that fits.

Is there a page for labels on tins?

Candle labels cover tin lids and sides, and the sizes work for other tins too.

Do you check legal wording on product labels?

We make sure the wording fits and is easy to read. The legal content is the maker's responsibility.

What if my container is an unusual shape?

Send a photo and the measurements, and we will suggest a size and shape on the proof.

Can one order cover jars, bottles and tubs?

Yes. Each design is priced on the same quote, whatever it goes on.
