Who orders these?

Small brands that pack by hand: pouches of coffee, bags of granola, boxes of soap, tins of balm. Most start with one front label and add a back label once the first run has sold.

Design Your Label

Drop your logo on a real photo of our custom product labels, move it and size it, and send it. A designer sets it up to scale and sends a free proof.

Custom Product Labels

Nothing is printed until you approve the proof.

What counts as a product label?

It is the label a customer reads before they buy: the name, what is inside, the weight or volume, and your logo. On a pouch it sits on the flat front panel. On a box it often wraps the lid or seals one end. On a tin it might be a circle on top and a strip around the side.

We print it to the size you give us, cut it to the shape you want, and supply it on a roll or on sheets. Nothing about the shape or size is fixed by a template.

Which material should the front label be?

Pick the stock by where the product lives, not only by how it looks on the screen. A kraft pouch sold dry on a shelf is happy with paper. A sauce bottle that gets handled with oily fingers wants film.

How big should a pouch label be?

Measure the flat panel, not the whole pouch. A stand-up pouch 120 mm wide usually has about 100 mm of flat face once the side gussets fold in, and the bottom 40 mm curves as the base opens. A front label of 80 x 100 mm sits comfortably on that face with room around it.

On a box, keep the label 3 to 5 mm in from every edge so it never folds over a crease. If you want it to wrap an edge on purpose, say so and we will set the bleed for it.

Bottles and jars are different, because the label has to sit on the straight part of the wall. If you are labelling glass rather than a pouch or a box, measure the height between the shoulder and the base curve first, then take a few millimetres off top and bottom.

Front, back and seal: one order or three?

Many brands order the set together: a front label with the name, a back label with ingredients or directions, and a small circle to seal the top. Each design is priced on the same quote, and each one gets its own proof.

Running them together keeps the colours matched, because they are printed on the same stock at the same time. If one of the three changes more often, such as a batch label, we can price that one on matt paper so you can write on it.

Rolls or sheets for product labels?

If you apply labels by hand and pack a few dozen a day, sheets are quicker to pick up and easier to store. If you use a dispenser or a labelling machine, or you pack hundreds at a sitting, rolls save a lot of time.

Tell us the core size and which way the label should come off the roll, and we set it up to match. Our guide on choosing rolls or sheets for labels goes through the choice in more detail.

What our team checks before anything prints

Every order gets a free design proof by email. We look at the things that cause trouble later and point them out before you approve:

  • Text smaller than about 6 pt that may not read once printed
  • Logos supplied as small web images that will look soft
  • Colours that sit close to the edge with no bleed
  • Barcodes too small or too close to a cut line to scan
  • Labels taller than the flat part of the container

How does ordering work?

  1. Send the product, the size in mm, the quantity and your artwork through the quote form or by email.
  2. We reply within one working day with a price and a free design proof.
  3. Ask for changes until the proof is right, then approve it.
  4. We print in 3 to 5 working days after approval.
  5. Free tracked delivery reaches UK mainland addresses in 2 to 3 working days.

Prices start from £0.05 a label, and the exact figure depends on the size, material, finish and quantity.

Can one label work across several products?

Yes, and it is a good way to start. A plain front label with your logo and a blank panel lets you print once and finish each flavour by hand or with a small batch sticker. When one line starts to sell well, give it its own design.

If you want several flavours from day one, send each design and the quantity of each. They share one proof round, so the colours and type sizes stay consistent across the range.

Does the finish change how the label reads?

Gloss lifts colour and wipes clean but can glare under bright shop lights. Matt reads well at any angle and takes a pen. Soft-touch feels like velvet in the hand, which suits candles and skincare. Foil picks out a logo in silver or gold, and spot varnish adds shine to one part of the design only.

If you cannot decide, ask for two finishes on the proof and we will describe how each one will look on your stock.

Are low quantities worth it for a first run?

Often, yes. A first run lets you see the label on the shelf, live with it for a few weeks and change the wording before a bigger order. Minimums are low and quoted per job, so a short test run is a normal request.

The price per label falls as the quantity rises, so once the design settles most brands move to a larger roll and reorder less often.

Keep a few labels from each run in a drawer. When you reorder, holding last year's label against the new proof is the quickest way to spot a colour shift or a line of text that has moved.

Custom Product Labels questions

More answers in Help, or call +44 7578 382054 or message us on WhatsApp.

Can you match the label to my existing packaging colour?

Send a photo of the pack and, if you have it, the colour reference from your designer. We match it on screen in the proof and tell you how close it will print on the stock you chose.

Will a product label stick to a kraft pouch?

Yes. Kraft pouches have a matt paper surface that takes a permanent adhesive well. Press the label down from the centre outwards so no air is trapped.

Can I order a front label and a back label together?

Yes. Each design is priced on the same quote and each one gets its own proof, so you can approve them together.

What shape should a product label be?

Rectangles use the flat face of most packs best. Circles and ovals suit lids and round tins. A custom cut follows your logo outline and costs a little more to set up.

How do I choose the label size for a box?

Measure the face of the box and take 3 to 5 mm off each edge. That keeps the label clear of the creases when the box is folded.

Can you print ingredients and a barcode on the label?

Yes. Send the wording and the barcode number or file, and we lay them out on the proof at a size that reads and scans.

Do you print a blank panel for writing dates by hand?

We can leave a clear panel on matt paper or matt-finished film, which takes a ballpoint or marker better than gloss.

What is the best material for product labels in a fridge?

White or clear BOPP. It is a water-resistant film, so condensation does not soften it the way it can soften paper.

Can I change the wording after approving the proof?

Tell us straight away. If printing has not started we update the proof; once it has, a change becomes a new print run.

Do you supply labels with my logo only and no text?

Yes. A logo-only label is common for seals and boxes. Send the logo file and the size, and we set it centred on the shape you choose.

Can product labels go on textured card?

They can, though heavily textured board gives the adhesive less to grip. A slightly larger label with rounded corners lifts less on rough card.

How long do product label proofs take?

The first proof and the price come back by email within one working day. Small changes to a proof usually come back within hours.
